Dear Parents,

We keep practicing reading and writing numbers up to 100,000.

We learned about adjectives and practiced being descriptive in our writing using a variety of gourds.

Ask me which gourd I chose to describe and what adjectives I used to be specific.

Ms. Sato's class went through an obstacle course for inline skating and learned how to use our inside edges to do bubbles.

Students tried to get to our Epic account to get ready to use iPads as a literacy station later in the week.

Reminders

• November 1 and 2 (1:20-2:15 p.m.) – Alien Inline for Ms. Sato's class. Students should have dry socks for this.  Having their own helmet that fits their head makes things easier.
• Deadline to order individual photo packages is Oct. 31.

• Tuesday, October 31 is Spirit Day where students may wear Orange/Black or a costume. Students MAY: 

   -   wear their regular clothes 

  -   wear orange and black 

  -   wear a simple costume that does not interfere with learning 

  Students MAY NOT: 

  -   wear full face costume masks 

  -   bring costume accessories (ie. weapons) 

  -   wear costumes they are not comfortable in for the day during all learning activities 

  -   wear costumes that interfere with learning time 

  -   spend instructional time putting on costumes or makeup 

  -  bring candy or treats to share with their peers or class 

• Healthy Hunger Cobs Treat on Thursday, November 2.
• Please send a maximum of two fall photos to Mrs. Brinson (mlbrinson@cbe.ab.ca) by Nov. 2 if interested in being part of a fall video she is putting together. Pictures can include ANY and ALL fall or Halloween activities such as:  
• Sitting by a fire 
• Camping or hiking 
• Raking leaves 
• Baking or cooking fall favourite recipes 
• Drinking hot chocolate 
• Going for a fall walk 
• Picking apples 
• Visiting a petting zoo 
• Visiting Harvest Days or a Harvest Pumpkin Fest 
• Attending a football or hockey game 
• Designing, carving or dressing up a pumpkin and taking a photo of your family with it 
• Dressing up in a costume 
• Trick or treating
• PLEASE NOTE: Students will be participating in their regular gym classes outdoors for the entire month of October to accommodate Alien Inline in the gymnasium unless there's inclement weather and should be dressed for the weather.
